The cost of school has always been a question regarding financial stability, credit worthiness, and cost on expenses. Someone who elects to go to school to meet work requirements has a different expense cost than someone who selects job training.

Most recently, school costs vary but are standardizing.

DegreePer Class CostClasses Required
Associate$300-$50020
Bachelor$800-$120020
Masters$1500-$200010-12
Doctorateup to $600012-20
The number of classes is currently cumulative and has been asked to be fixed with admission based on performance.

The suggested degree requirements are to complete 10-15 classes at a specific level such as 100-200, 300-400, 500-600, or 700-900. Degrees overall are currently standardizing at the 500-600 level, so the request has been to place into a specific level and to be able to do assessments to skip levels at the end of each semester.

These are the suggested degree costs.

DegreeSuggested Degree Cost
Associate$5000 - $6000
BachelorLess than $12000
Masters$12000 to $15000 total
Doctorateno more than $25000 to $35000
This is viewed as the actual value of a degree, with most people wanting to pay the degree in 2-3 years and no more than 5-6 year. Many people intending to change jobs in less than 10 years.

The degrees are viewed as stackable meaning that someone may have a JD, MD, Engineering Degree, and Banking Degree over a 25 year work period possibly with an office management certificate and an accounting certificate or legal research certificate. People have also suggested those that have been out of school for more than 10 years to go back to high school for an updated diploma. Online high school costs are currently $1000 to $1500 and available through various states.

Once someone has a recent high school diploma, it is suggested to look at various colleges and their school catalog or course descriptions and degree plans. This would then be followed by talking with an advisor about work goals before signing off on a loan and enrollment.

The suggested degree costs are for loans only, in order to build a credit line. There is also a suggestion to get rid of grants and scholarships which are already limited to $3000 to $5000 on average.

These changes are viewed as necessary for the U.S. to regain its developed nation status and so that it can focus on long term financial stability beyond rent, food, utilities, money to go out, and travel budget to visit family.

Traditionally, the U.S. has had budgets for gifts, holidays, retirement accounts, charity, philanthropy, and mortgages. This is viewed as unfeasible with the current cost of college education and with policies that restrict high school graduates to jobs with an entry level management responsibility only.

College education should be representative of actual loan costs and achievable payment plans based on the current and projected economic conditions. This should take into account data showing that people no longer stay at their jobs for more than 10 years and consider the desire to reduce the total amount of debt per household.
